DT-LO fot tMN: Something good happens

by - 9/02/2013 12:46:00 PM

 Happy tuesday everyone!
It's time for my first DT-layout as a member of The Memory Nests Challenge Desing Team!!
This time we have a color challenge.
Trick is to use (picture below) some of the sayings or words as a title.
So much fun!

Tiistaita kaikille!
On aika esitellä ensimmäinen DT-työni The Memory Nestin haaste Desing Teamin jäsenenä!!
Tällä kertaa meillä on värihaaste.
Jekku onkin käyttää alla olevan kuvan sanoja tai lausahduksia otsikkona.
Superkivaa!

My title is "something good happens". I suppose it really did when I was turning three.
I actually chose that picture first, because all colors in the pic fit perfectly to color scheme. Totally 80's!

I mixed some gesso, orange mist and few drops of water to make those splashes. My new white bathroom almost took a new orange look - mayde I should get some old cardboard box to do all messy work inside it...

Minun otsikkoni on "something good happens/jotain hyvää tapahtuu". Varmasti tapahtuikin, kun täytin itse kolme vuotta.
Itseasiassa, valitsin ensin kuvan koska tässä kuvassa värimaailma istuu täydellisesti annettuun väripalettiin. Todella 80-lukua!

Sekoitin löysän vellin gessosta, oranssista mististä ja pienestä määrästä vettä, sillä sai hyvät roiskeet taustalle aikaan. Uusi hohtavan valkoinen kylppärimme meinasi saada uuden oranssin ilmeen myöskin - olisi varmasti korkea aika hankkia pahvilaatikko sotkuisten töiden tekoa varten.

Katsokaa tuota onnellista lapsen ilmettä kynttilöitä puhaltamassa.
Onni on hyvä lapsuus.

Look at that happy face blowing the candles :)

Material list:
Prima Marketing, Basic Grey, American Crafts
 Freckled Fawn, Studio Calico, Wycinanka

Something else here too!

I've probably told you before that I don't like to do layouts with multible pictures. It's mostly because I don't have my own printer to print pictures small enough. I like my layouts to be airy and sweet, lots of free space.
Well, here is a layout made with same recipe that one above, and with three (too large) pictures.

  1. Beautiful. Love the way you used the colors and the choice of title. The layout with multiple photos is great too. Have you ever tried creating a collage in a software program (4x6)? Then print it at the store as a regular 4x6. Great way to get smaller pics without having your own printer. :)

    1. Thank you Leslie for your tip!
I actually have tried: For example these pics in below LO are fixed with Photoshop to same 4x6 (2pcs/photo), and then printed. Maybe I should give a try to add four or five pics to the same 4x6. They just look so small in computer screen, or maybe I'm just too stuck in my own habits :D
