As I have had so many questions about how I edit my scrapbook pages, I decided to record a little video about it. I'm using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, but all the tips goes well with other photo editing programs as well.

Hello all! Happy to see you here! This a very special post for me, I want to tell you something about my trip to London last September. I never do these kind of posts, but the exception proves the rule, right? I hope you like these pics, and maybe you can learn some new things about me ;)
That first photo collage above is traditional London tourist stuff, such as London Eye, Big Ben and well, London Eye again - but I prefer more the pictures below...
...because there is a picture of the Tower Bridge. My day time job is in engineering office, and all my studies was about structures and house building. My real (work)passion is old structures, and especially bridges - I can stare old blueprints for hours and I'll never stop wondering how hard it must have been to build that kind of things. So you can imagine how I felt like heaven, as our hotel was right next to Tower Bridge, one of my favorite bridges in the world! Other fav is in New York, hope to get there one day, and another fav is in Heinola, in the city where I was born and raised.
One of the reasons we planned to do our trip was that we never had a honeymoon. I'm not the kind of person who enjoys laying on the beach for a week, and the thought of leaving kids to their grandma for a week - NO NO NO! That's why long weekend in London was perfect for us! We had our 7th anniversary there, and my (almost too-) sugary hubby was prepared to celebrating it by buying a lock for us to lock it to Tower Bridge. And throw the key to river Thames. That gesture was like the most romantic ever, it surprised me completely! I didn't even know how to behave in a situation like that, I was so confused. In happy way.
For a photographer like me London was a great choice. I could spent hours and hours just photographing all little details I saw. And for a scrapbook artist like me, London was a great choice, so much inspiration everywhere! Even the scaffolding (picture below) made me want to build a page or a canvas inspired by like those pipes goes. And maps. Especially London underground maps. Or windows in Parliament building.
Little details, big buildings. More details.
Another great thing for me in big city like London was people. People just like in the pics below: random tourists photographing sights, tender touches on a boat and that young couple looking at the ring that lady is wearing - maybe they just got engaged?! I love watching people, but I really enjoy my quiet alone time, too.
Also, I met a very special lady over there. Ali, the editor from Scrap365 magazine, and I went to have afternoon tea, just like English people do: lots of cakes and scones and delicious tea - most importantly great company! She was even more lovely and cute that I knew! How great it is to travel all over the world and meet people who shares the same passion for paper. Oh, I want to travel everywhere and see you all! Wait for me US, I'm coming, and Poland, and France, and Australia, and South Africa, and, and, and..
You can guess how many of these pics are already in my layouts!? Or how many of them are on my waiting list? Or how many layout you are about to see with London theme ;)

Hello! It's to share my crafty room with you. I've introduced it before (here), but since Ali, our lovely Editor at Scrap365 asked me to show my room to Scrap365 readers, I thought to share my room here again, too. So here we go.
My room is small, pink, sterile and a bit boring - but why? It's going to turn out to my older daughter's room before next spring. My master plan was to paint all the walls to white (I love white!), buy a new table, get a new pair of curtains, new carpet to the floor and few shelves to the wall... But then the reality hit quite hard and I realized my "baby" needs to have her own room before her school begins. So, no more decorating, just planning my new space which is going to be in the corner of our bedroom, or in the corner of our living room, or maybe we need to buy a new house!
But now I'm writing this post as a tribute to my room: It has served me very satisfactorily and I believe I'll miss it a lot during the next years.

Find the weird thing? I meant the empty beer bottle - it's for stamping. I used it to my art journal tutorial (link to the video).
One of the drawers includes my stamps, some of them are in a little basket and most of them are in this folder.

My 12" papers are hiding in the closet. I've arranged them in alphabetical order by manufacturer. Yes, I am that organized what comes to scrapbook papers. To be honest, for example my clothes are not in any order and it's always hard to find anything from our walk-in closet.
Isot paperini ovat kaapissa. Järjestin ne aakkosjärjestykseen valmistajan nimen mukaan. Kyllä, olen juuri niin järjestelmällinen mitä tulee skräppipapereihin. Mutta rehellisyyden nimissä, esimerkiksi vaatteeni ovat aina ihan sekaisin ja löydän tuskin mitään vaatehuoneestamme.

Heippa! Aika esitellä askarteluhuoneeni. Olen esitellyt sen täällä blogissani ennenkin (täällä), mutta kun Ali, ihana Scrap365-lehden toimittaja pyysi esittelemään askartelutilani lehden lukijoille ajattelin esitellä huoneeni uudelleen täälläkin. Joten nyt mennään.
Huoneeni on pieni, pinkki, aika steriili ja hieman tylsä - mutta miksi? Siitä tulee esikoisemme oma huone ennen ensi kevättä. Suuri suunnitelmani oli maalailla seinät valkoisiksi (rakastan valkoista), ostaa uusi pöytä, uudet verhot, uusi matto lattialle ja muutama hylly seinälle... Mutta sitten todellisuus iski ja tajusin että pieni "vauvani" tarvitsee oman tilansa ennen koulun alkua. Joten, ei enää sisustamista, vaan uuden tilan suunnittelua, joka tulee olemaan nurkka meidän makuuhuoneesta tai nurkka olohuoneesta, tai sitten meidän pitää ostaa uusi talo!
Mutta nyt siis kirjoitan kirjoitan tämän postauksen kunnianosoitukseni huoneelleni: Se on palvellut minua hyvinkin tyydyttävästi ja uskon että ikävöin sitä suuresti tulevina vuosina.
Here is how it looks. There's my work table in the front of the window - my view is to our yard where our kids loves to play. I think I'm known as "the mother who yells behind her window". And I think it gets even weirder when I set my camera on the top of my table - it might look like a binoculars or any other spying device when looking from the yard. But you all know what I'm doing and that's the truth! Lol!
My work table drawers includes all the things I need the most - tapes, glues, left over papers, flair buttons, paper trimmer and other tools.
Tältä se näyttää. Pöytäni on ikkunan edessä - näkymä suoraan pihallemme jossa tyttäret rakastavat leikkiä. Luulenpa, että naapurien keskuudessa minut tunnetaan "äitinä, joka aina ärisee ikkunasta". Ja kun siihen lisää vielä kameralaitteiston pöydän päälle - jotka näyttää muuten ihan joltain vakoiluvälineistöltä kaukaa katsottuna, niin näytän vielä oudommalta. Mutta te tiedätte mitä teen, se on totuus! :D
Työpöytäni laatikot sisältävät tarvikkeita joita tarvitsen eniten - teippiä, liimaa, jämäpapereita, nappeja, paperileikkuri ja muita välineitä.
Few of my favorite layouts are hanging on the wall. It might look like I have a lot of empty table space, but as soon as I crap my brushes and mediums, I also need some space to let my creations dry. I still don't own a heat gun!

Muutama leiska on päässyt seinälle. Ja voi näyttää siltä että minulla on hyvin paljon pöytätilaa lipastojen päällä, mutta sillä hetkellä kun kaivan siveltimet ja mömmöt esiin niin tarvitsen myös reilusti tilaa kuivata työni. En vieläkään omista kuumailmapuhallinta!

But I still have one question for you: Where do you storage your scrapbook albums? I've seen a lot of tips and photos to storage all the stash, but where are all the albums full of those gorgeous pages?
I solved this problem with a chest (link). It's also our living room table, so it's easy to take those albums out and show them to our guests. It includes six albums and few extra pages, I've got three albums in our warehouse and few in my craft room, too. Where to put all these!?

Hello there! It's a sunny day here in Finland, hope you are having one too! 7 Dots Studio is having their August-September challenge, theme is five senses. This theme was quite open, it can be approached in very different directions. I myself am a very emotional person - so sorry for my hubby ;) - and of course I wanted to think this too with how those five senses feels like. And somehow, that made me thinking about goals. Goals in my working life, goals in my personal life.
As you might remember, I'm in the middle of lifestyle change. I've just lost over 40 kilograms, which means I have had to change my whole diet, which means I have had to learn how to eat. And that means I have had to learn to like different kind of things, healthier food and very much more exercise. That in turn, has forced me to get used to the new feelings. Such as I really can physically do something! And omg, that just feels so good!
Hei vaan! Aurinkoinen päivä tänään, toivottavasti sinullakin! 7 Dots Studiolla on menossa Elo-Syyskuun haaste, teemalla viisi aistia. Teema on melkoisen laaja, sitä voi lähestyä hyvinkin monelta kantilta. Itse olen varsin tunteellinen ihminen - sori vaan armas puolisoni ;) - ja tietysti tätäkin teemaa lähdin katselemaan siltä kantilta miltä nuo viisi aistia tuntuvat. Ja jotenkin se sai ajattelemaan tavoitteitakin. Tavoitteita työelämässä, tavoitteita yksityiselämässä.
Ja kuten saatat muistaakin, olen juurikin keskellä elämäntapamuutosta. Olen tiputtanut ruhtinaalliset 40 kiloa, joka tarkoittaa että olen joutunut muuttamaan koko ruokavalioni, joka tarkoittaa että olen joutunut opettelemaan uudelleen syömisen. Ja se taas tarkoittaa että olen joutunut opettelemaan tykkäämään uudenlaisista asioista, terveellisestä ruuasta ja liikunnan riemuista. Tämä puolestaan on pakottanut tottumaan uusin tunteisiin. Kuten että pystyn johonkin, ihan fyysisesti! Ja voi luoja se tuntuu hyvälle!

Heippa ja tervetuloa meidän olohuoneeseen! Tänään esittelen tämän ihanaisen arkkuni joka on täynnä salaisuuksia, täynnä muistoja, täynnä skräppisivuja!
I'm always wondering about how you storage your scrapbook albums?
It's important to have them close to living room - I mean, at least in our house the living room is THE room where all the life happens. It's THE room where our guests sits and where we spent our time. Another important thing is to have a lot of space for them. One album is small, but when you have six of them.. Ugh.
Third important thing for me is to hide them. I love clean house, and I love clean surfaces, that's why open shelf was not an option.
But this chest. Oh, the chest. I'm in love.
It's designed by Finnish designer Risto-Matti Ratia. It's called Saaristo-kotikirstu. I love his clean and scandinavian style. He has also designed few coffins, so now you know how to bury me - a little black humor! Lol!
This chest is perfect as it works as a coffee table, too.
There is six albums now, I still have few in my craft room and few in our warehouse. And another chest is waiting it's place from somewhere.
Mietin aina kuinka te muut säilötte skräppialbuminne?
On tärkeää pitää ne lähellä olohuonetta - tarkoitan, ainakin meidän kodissa se on SE huone jossa kaikki elämä eletään. Se on SE huone jonne vieraat istuvat ja jossa vietetään aikaa. Toinen tärkeä asia on riittävän suuri tila. Yksi albumi sujahtaa minne vaan, mutta kun niitä on vähintään kuusi.. Voih.
Kolmas tärkeä asia minulle on piilottaa ne. Rakastan siistiä kotia, siistejä puhtaita pintoja ja sen takia avohyllykkö ei ollut vaihtoehto.
Mutta arkku. Voi arkku. Olen rakastunut.
Se on mainion suomalaisen suunnittelijan, Risto-Matti Ratian käsialaa. Saaristo-kotikirstu. Rakastan hirmuisen hänen tuotantoaan puhtaine linjoineen skandinaavisella tyylillä. Onpa hän suunnitellut myös ruumisarkun, että nyt tiedätte miten säilöä myös minut - kevyttä mustaa huumoria :D
Tämä arkku on ihan huippu koska se toimittaa myös olohuoneen pöydän virkaa.
Arkku sisältää nyt kuusi albumia, lisäksi muutama on askarteluhuoneessani ja muutama varastossa. Ja toinen arkku odottelee omaa sijoituspaikkaansa.
